To provide sports activities for children in the Vienna, VA area who do not otherwise have an opportunity to participate in organized sports.

There are no opportunities at Fairfax County schools to participate in organized sports activities so parents in Vienna in the early 1970s decided to create an opportunity to play football, basketball and to cheer for those sports. Subsequently, other sports have been added as demand increased and today VYI provides programs in eight different sports over multiple seasons.
