Post Season Tournaments and Trophies

END OF SEASON TOURNAMENT

After the regular season, all leagues, except 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders, may, as decided by the grade level league commissioner, have a tournament within their league to determine the league champion. The tournament will be single elimination with brackets determined based on regular season records and the discretion of the league commissioner.

If there is a tie in the standings at the end of the regular season period (usually 10 games), the first tie-breaker is head to head competition among the teams tied and the second is record against common opponents.  If a tie still exists a coin toss by the commissioner or their designated representative will be completed and the results reported via email.

Final standings must be reported by the league commissioner to the league office to allow set up of the tournament pairings as soon as possible, but no later than Tuesday following the last game of the regular season, when the final standings are known.

Trophies will be awarded to all players on the final two teams in each tournament. Regular season trophies are not provided by the league, but may be provided by parents or coaches, at their discretion. Participation awards will be given to instructional players in the 1st through 3rd grades.

ALL STAR TEAMS AND GAMES

HOUSE ALL STARS

The commissioners for grades 4-9 leagues will each form two All Star teams of 8-12 players from the participants in their leagues.  The All Star game will be played after the final tournament game is completed on Finals Sunday in March. All Star jerseys will be provided by VYI.

Commissioners of these grade levels should form teams in consultation with their league coaches.  VYI requires that each house league team have one player participate in the All Star game.

All Star games are intended to be a fun, end of the season game.
