Coaches
Craig Chasse, Commissioner & Head Coach
In March 2004, Craig brought his Potomac Valley Flyers youth club to form the foundation of VYI Track and Field. Craig is a teacher and coach at James Madison High School, where he teaches Physical Education and Driver's Ed. and is the head coach of the cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field team. Prior to that he has coached at Falls Church High School and Mount Hebron High School. He started coaching youth track in 1990 with the Howard County Junior Striders while still an undergrad student at the University of Maryland.
Craig is also the presisdent of the Potomac Valley Track Club, which is a local track club supporting members of all ages. Craig has a master's degree in Exercise Physiology. He has a USATF Level 2 coaching certification in jumps and competes in distances running at the local and at the national level meets.
Tony Dziepak, Assistant Coach
Tony has been with VYI Track and Potomac Valley Flyers as an assistant coach since 2002, and worked with Madison High School as an assistant from 2003 to 2008. Tony coaches the throwing events and has served as the Track & Field Commissioner on the VYI board from 2004 to 2006. Tony competed for Virginia Tech where his specialty was the hammer throw. Tony has also competed in the discus throw, shot put, and weight throw, as well as the Scottish highland games. Tony is an economist at the MITRE Corporation. He resides in Vienna with his wife, Kristin, and three daughters.

Coaches' Policy
All of our coaches volunteer for Vienna Youth, Inc.--they receive no compensation from VYI for time or instruction. Coaches' travel expense reimbursement is controlled through VYI budget oversight, and travel expense reimbursement for select meets is limited and must be supplemented through fundraising.
All coaches are required to sign and abide by the VYI Coaches' Code of Conduct, which can be viewed from the VYI home page (see "Code of Conduct" from the left menu bar). We also have our coaches screened via a background check (through TCLogiQ, a screening company picked by USATF)
